I am having a benefit for a dear friend of mine, Jim McPherson, who has Mesothelioma (a respiratory lung cancer). Due to many complications, Jim has been receiving treatment twice a day for many months. He takes the bus from Brooklyn Center to HCMC twice a day for these treatments, and he is always giving the doctors a run for their money with many added complications and the need for treatment changes.
This benefit is this Saturday, October 17th from 1:00 – 3:00pm at The Rail Station, 3675 Minnehaha Ave., Minneapolis. We are selling raffle tickets with 3 Grand Prizes: 1st Prize – 7day/6night Westgate Resort Vacation; 2nd Prize – PC Netbook Computer; 3rd Prize – Kodak Easy Share Digital Camera. We are selling tickets $3.00 each Or 4 for $10.00.
Also, on Saturday we are having a silent auction with many great items – Outdoor patio table/6 chairs & Umbrella Retail $495.00; Autographed framed color picture and an authentic jersey of Viking Adrian Peterson Retail priceless to Viking fans; Hand beaded infant moccasins; Framed and signed Viking Chester Taylor photo; Timberwolves tickets; and many more.
We are also having a Gift Card Raffle (kind of like the meat raffle only the prizes are $25.00+value of gift cards for many locations) We will be serving tap Miller beer for $2 a glass.
